My First Project Life

Hi There,

I'm here with my final project for The Piece by Piece. Let me share with you a little on how I started scrapbooking. Life for me has been so wonderful with a very loving and caring husband as well as two beautiful children. When I grow old, I want to be able to remember my life's special moments with them; this is how I started scrapbooking. I want to be able to document and put together our moments as a family into memories in a book by means of scrapbook. But, somehow I got too involved in the whole crafting/scrapbooking community that I lost touch of my goal. So, I'm here once again setting myself up for another goal but this time, making it a lot easier for me and do-able in order for me to be able to catch up. I decided on Project Life. Please enjoy my first few pages I created in under an hour - I know, right??? Under an hour! Music to my ears. I hope I can continue to finish this book for my son and another one for my daughter, hoping I can challenge myself up for Project Life 365.

Prima's Delight Pocket Watch

Hi All!

I'm here again with another design team project for The Piece by Piece. This project was inspired by Shelly Hickox who is one of Sizzix designers. You'll find her blog post here for a complete step by step tutorial on how to create the pocket watch. I created a pocket watch out of the Tim Holtz Sizzix Pocket Watch die and also the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Sized Circles die. I also added a chain and a few laces/embellishments to make it look like an actual necklace; of course, it's not meant to be worn. Here's my project:

Thank You Cards and Fun Favor Treat for School Kids

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to quickly share my other creations recently. I've created two thank you cards for my preschool (not anymore) daughter's teachers and a treat for each of her school friends. So let me share the photos with you and I'll describe them individually.

Thank you cards for teachers

For these cards, I created them somewhat alike. I used a plain kraft cardstock as the base for the card, matted the patterned paper (I used Graphic45's ABC primer paper collection) with black cardstock. For embellishments, I added a heart banner die cut using my Lala land crafts die, made a rosette of the rosette die by Lala land crafts as well. The ruler was fuzzy cut from the paper collection and I added a chalkboard heart clip that I purchased from Michael's. And of course, I won't forget about the image I used. She's from Lala land crafts as well and it's the Backpack Marci stamp image which I copic colored and paper pieced.

For this fun kids' party favor or should I say, "End of School Year" party favor, I die cut a black cardstock with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Pillow Box die with a movers and shapers label die. I adhered a clear acrylic where the label hole is and wrote on the box with different chalk colors (you can use chalk markers rather than an actual chalk if you want your writing to look better). I also tied twine around to act as closure and added a tag.

I hope you will try this fun treat boxes and get inspirations from the handmade cards.
Until next time!

Engraver Family Printer's Tray

Hello Everyone!

So yesterday was my husband and I's 5th year wedding anniversary. As husband and wife, we are always about making and remembering memories together and as a family. We love traditions and we love starting up one within our family. One specific tradition we have started is gifting each other with something that reflects the traditional wedding anniversary gift theme. If you are unaware of what this is, click here. So for the first year, the traditional wedding anniversary gift theme is paper. For that year, my husband gave me a shopping spree voucher printed on a piece of paper, not a clever idea but the shopping spree made up for it, lol! I gave him a mini album (of course, composed of paper and chipboard) titled, "The Story of Us". I think you get the idea of the mini album. Second year theme is cotton; he gave me a cotton dress, I gave him a customed cotton apron (since he loves to barbeque). Third year theme is leather; he gave me a designer leather purse and I gave him a designer leather belt. Fourth year theme is fruit or flowers; he gave me two boxes of chocolate covered strawberries and I gave him a single red rose.

As boring as this can go on, for the fifth year, the gift theme is wood. He gave me one of the perfumes from my favorite designer, Anna Sui. My husband had a hard time with this theme although he can easily get me a wooden hanger for our closet, he still tried to make it more meaningful for me. I collect Anna Sui perfumes and he had found out that the latest perfume she's released has the scent of flowers and wood mixed together. I must say, it smells so good! Well, you can't go wrong with her perfume anyway. What did I give him you ask??? Well, let's get this blog rolling... I altered yet another printer's tray! I know, I know!... ANOTHER printer's tray! (there will be another one to come *hint *hint). As most of you crafter's know, printer's trays are made out of wood and I just can't get enough of altering them! So, here's what I came up with:

I am very pleased with the outcome of this printer's tray and I'm so happy that I've finally created something that I can keep! "Memories" Mini Album Using Romance Novel Collection by Prima

Hi Everyone!

It's that time of the month again to share with you my design team project for The Piece by Piece. For this month, I created a mini album with the ever so popular paper collection by Prima which is the Romance Novel. I found this mini album a bit of a challenge for me because for one, I haven't created a mini album in a long time. Also, I always include pictures in the mini albums I've created. Despite the challenges, I've had a lot of fun creating. I've been inspired by so many talented ladies out there in the crafting community. For more information on how I put this mini album together, please watch my video here. And so without taking much of your time, here are the images of my "Memories" mini album especially created for a special friend. I hope she will like it!

Prima Lyric Printer's Tray

Hi Everyone!

I created yet another printer's tray for my May design team for The Piece by Piece. I guess I should say that the best way for me to gift a person something special or at least, personal, is a handmade printer's tray with the recepient's photos in it. I created this project for the boss lady of The Piece by Piece using Prima's Lyric collection. If you are not informed yet, TPBP has opened up an actual store in Fremont, California earlier in the year. So, this is my late store/housewarming gift for her. For more details on how I created this project, watch the video here. Here are the images:

Thank you for stopping by! Don't forget to check out The Piece by Piece etsy store for some unique laces and trims. They are now carrying a wide variety of scrapbooking products from big manufacturers.
